Nassau County Museum of Art
Ranked among the nation's largest, most important suburban art museums. Nassau County Museum of Art annually presents major rotating exhibitions, many of which are original to the museum and are organized by the museum's own curatorial staff. The permanent collection of more than 500 art objects spans American and European art of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County
The museum presents a detailed and comprehensive chronicle of the Holocaust, and utilizes multimedia displays, artifacts, archival footage, testimonies from local Survivors and Liberators, and encompasses a special gallery for changing exhibits.
Sands Point Perserve
The Sands Point Preserve on the original Guggenheim Estate embodies the grandeur and elegance that define the Gold Coast period of the early 20th century, when prominent American families built great mansions on large estates as summer retreats along the Long Island Sound. The Conservancy provides year-round educational and cultural programs, seasonal celebrations, mansion tours, fitness activities as well as private/corporate event services and film/TV location facilities.
Gold Coast Arts Center
The Gold Coast Arts Center has been a vital Long Island institution for over a decade. Today it is recognized as a premier venue for art, music, dance, drama, film and literature.
United States Merchant Marine Academy
This famous academy has been involved in maritime training for more than a century. The Academy grounds, museum and gift shop are open to the general public throughout the year from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily (with the exception of federal holidays and summer and winter leave periods). A visitor's guide is available for self-guided tours, and organized guided tours are available through the Office of External Affairs, (516) 773-5387. Tilles Center, LIU Post LI Campus
Located on the LIU Post campus of Long Island University in Brookville, Tilles Center for the Performing Arts is Long Island's premier concert hall. A constituent of Long Island University, Tilles Center hosts more than 100 performances by world-renowned artists in music, theater and dance each season.
Located in neighboring Elmont, Belmont Racetrack is the home of the Belmont Stakes. The 430-acre racetrack is known as "The Championship Track" because nearly every champion horse has run here, including each of the 12 Triple Crown winners.
Old Westbury Gardens
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Old Westbury Gardens welcomes visitors of all ages for guided tours. View the formal gardens and Westbury House, or come for a special event. The Gardens regularly hosts exhibits, classic car shows, indoor and outdoor concerts, lectures, book signings, horticultural demonstrations, workshops and more. Jones Beach State Park
Come to this world-class, 6.5-mile stretch of beach on the shores of Long Island. The park is home to the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center, which includes environmental displays about the seashore, educational tours and programming for all ages. The west end of the park provides wonderful surf fishing, and Jones Beach has a two-mile boardwalk with games, miniature golf and beach volleyball. This beach also hosts the popular Bethpage Federal Credit Union Annual Memorial Day Weekend Air Show.
Nikon at Jones Beach Theater
Located on beautiful Jones Beach State Park, the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater is an outdoor concert arena over looking the ocean. This famous theater is among the two largest in the New York City area, with 15,000 seats. See who’s performing during your visit.
Flushing Meadows Corona Park
This 1,255-acre park has historical, recreational and environmental significance. Despite being a former dumping ground that was labeled a "valley of ashes" by F. Scott Fitzgerald in The Great Gatsby, today the site has become Queens' largest park, as well as the home of the Tennis US Open.

Cradle of Aviation Museum
The history of aviation, the history of Long Island and the history of the United States became intimately entwined with the dawn of flight. From the early days of kites and ballooning to the race to the moon, Long Island has played a very important role in the development and growth of aviation and aerospace. Learn all about it at the Cradle of Aviation Museum, which features a state-of-the-art IMAX Theater. The museum is open seven days a week.
Mitchel Athletic Complex
This 49-acre complex is centrally located just west of the Nassau Coliseum and opposite the Long Island Children's and Aviation museums. Mitchel hosts a variety of amateur and professional athletic events, including the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse games. Amateur teams include Long Island Fury soccer and Long Island Academy soccer.
Madison Square Garden
The world's most famous arena, Madison Square Garden is located on Seventh Avenue between 31st and 33rd streets in New York City. It is home to the New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New York Liberty and the best concerts and family events in the tri-state area.
Greentree is a 400-acre estate located in neighboring Manhasset. Built in 1904, the influential Whitney family lived here for nearly a century. Today the estate is run by the Greentree Foundation and functions as a conference center dedicated to international justice and human rights issues.
Bethpage Golf Course
Located within Bethpage State Park, this 18-hole public course is the best in the region. Bethpage is home to the world-renowned Black Course, which was the site of the United States Open in 2002 and 2009. Bethpage Black hosted The Barclays in August 2016.
